Honeymoon is one of the most unforgettable things that a newly wedded couple will ever experience, so choosing a destination wisely is essential. Salar de Uyuni is not one of the most famous but is sure to be a memorable and magical experience. We tell you why.

Salar de Uyuni is the largest salt flats and the flattest place of the World. 12.000 km2 of pure white salt, which transforms the environment into a magical mirror in the rainy season and in a majestic white desert when in the dry season (check out our guide of when to visit Salar de Uyuni for more information). And nothing better than all that whiteness as the finishing touch of an outstanding wedding.

Ericka Rodriguez is a Bolivian who lives away from home. While she lived in Bolivia she never got the chance to explore the country as she would have liked, so she decided that taking a Salar de Uyuni tour would be an awesome experience to share with her husband who is also a Bolivian at heart. His husband, Gabriel, was born in the USA but lived most of his life there. They met in US and, among other things, they have in common they love Bolivia and they wanted to spend their honeymoon in a magical place:

Ericka tells us about their experience: “We tell everybody here about the salt flats and how awesome that place is and also we wanted to share this experience with our families. It was an adventure indeed and we had the time of our lives! Looking forward to come back for more great pictures. I brought my wedding dress to have a session called "Trash the Dress" so I'd have a beautiful memory about my wedding and honeymoon in Bolivia. Banjo Tours was part of this as well because it wasn't easy to plan a trip long distance! We were very happy that we chose the Salar for our Honey Moon”

They both loved the experience and are looking forward to come back and ride a motorcycle in the Uyuni Salt Flats.

Here are some pictures of their adventure.
